Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer

Philip leads the Investment Team and has overall portfolio management responsibility. He is the original architect of TAMRO’s investment philosophy and process. Philip co-founded TAMRO Capital Partners after serving for four years as the Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer of Riggs Investment Management Corporation (RIMCO). Philip started at RIMCO in 1990 as the Managing Director for Equity Strategy and Management. He began his career as a Trust Investment Officer for First American Bank in Washington, DC in 1980 and has worked in equity research and portfolio management throughout his career.

Philip earned a B.A. in Russian Language from Grinnell College and an M.B.A. in Finance and Investments from The George Washington University. He has been recognized by the national media on such programs as Wall $treet Week with Louis Rukeyser, CNBC’s Power Lunch, Nightly Business Report, and Bloomberg News. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
